The Princess and the Peasant

December 29, 2010

With every once upon a time

Comes a sad, yet joyous rhyme.

The rhyme of a peasant man

Holding out his hand

His palms praying  for something more

Than his own haunting lore.

In a competition of princes

He knows he doesn’t stand a chance

Yet each day, he kneels.

Yet each day, he feels,

She could turn to him

With merely a glance.

Years have passed,

And this peasant man still kneels

Just waiting for his one dance.

Little had he known,

She had only put on a show

To please their majesty,

The king and queen.

“I hath always loved you,

I mean,

What hath a prince

But his money and scene?”

The peasant man could only let a stare

For who has he been,

But just a man, sitting there?

He had no money,

He worked no shifts,

He had no talents,

He brought no gifts.

He was nothing for a princess,

His pleading hands so bare,

His face but a mess,

Yet the princess loved him

Just for sitting there.

“I hath not seen jealousy

As that I hath for thy princes,”

He said,

As the king and queen trade their winces.

“Yet, my lovely princess,

My love for you hath grown to excess,

And I hope only that you shall join me

In this eternal dance.”

The king and queen sent for the guards

“You must prevent this foolish peasant’s arms

From being set upon our precious daughter,”

Exclaimed the queen,

And though the guard was hesitant,

But hadn’t thought he could have fought her.

The peasant man took the princess’s hand

And led her towards the dance floor.

With the guards quickly approaching,

The peasant man and the princess encroaching

Upon every boundary ever laid,

But determined that they have this made,

The situation had become more dangerous then ever before.

The peasant man had only confidence in his mind

That the princess would finally break every bind.

Each tie with the previous world

Slowly would crumble

One by one,

Until the job was finally done.

The guards and their majesty finally break in,

And with a certain chill

Crawling up and down the peasant man’s skin,

The princess proclaimed,

“I take this good man’s hand

For he hath shown me my long-lost land

Which need be restored.

Now, I say,

I shall take thy wretched commands

And thy unfathomable demands

Nevermore.”

Invincible

September 8, 2010
She's invincible
With an unyielding opinion
A refusal of a certain variety,
A strength unmatched,
And unnatural perfection.

She's invincible
With two bruised and bloody knuckles,
A passion to fight those who compare,
But with a big bomb and a short fuse,
Even the strongest wouldn't dare.

She's invincible
With concealed emotions,
The omission of tears,
A deficit of words,
And an absence of fear.

She's invincible
With a razor blade making stains,
Bottles of pills screaming to be downed,
One by one,
And the way ...

This is who I am

September 8, 2010
They call me a believer
When all I do is breathe
They call me a thinker
When all I do is dream

Another second passes right by,
Birds chirp their lovely little lullabies.
Yet with every second
And every last note
The only thing to do is hope.

They call me a sinner,
They call me a saint,
They make my canvas thinner,
They ready it to break,
So somebody give me a bigger picture to paint
Before I make a huge mistake.

So why must they expect perfection
When everything is wrong,
When everything is just one colos...

Center Stage

August 16, 2010
Her mind was an empty stage
With an audience waiting to be blown away
Only to find disappointment.

Her eyes beam like the stars
Light the room like the moon afar,
But this is merely fake.

She only awaits the arrival,
On which she depends for survival
Of the people leaving.

Her spirit is worn
As they all toot their horn
For the sheer joy of the occasion.

She's backstage bleeding
Their words surely deceiving
It was not meant to be this way.

No one saw her fall
Or heard her call
A desperate cry for a last chanc...

Storm of Ferocity

August 14, 2010
Lightning strikes
Ignites what's stirring inside
Transforming dark, rhythmic beauty
So there's no place left to hide.

You open the door,
Step into this familiar cage,
Raindrops beating down on your rage,
Soaking right through to your intention
To the right
To the wrong
And everything that you have failed to mention.

You stand there and think to yourself,
"Does this thought really belong?"
Maybe you can help,
Or maybe you have been all along.

Raindrops full of ferocity
Now roll off your body and onto the gro...

As A Poet

May 10, 2010
As a poet,
I lead a life of unknown
Taking everything for what it's worth
I thirst to bring up what is deserved
Silent revenge keeps me from being alone

As a poet,
I'm destined to hell
As for who I am
No one can really tell
I was lost before it even began
My heart took off and will never land

As a poet,
I'm haunted with thoughts
Of battles I've lost
Or battles I've never even fought
Though sometimes I could fly
Even higher then the sky
It's moments like those
That make me wanna die
Though, I do suppose,
It's po...

Song of the Divine

May 8, 2010
Innumerable scars
Provoked by nonacceptance
They generate no pain
Alienated through repercussions
Reflections of the damned and terminally insane

Shattered hearts remain beating in rhythmic beauty
Reusing the hate and enmity
Discrimination and recrimination boxed up
With their selfish reasoning
Left on the curb for the abandoned and the poor
False love and hopeless luck
These tape that box shut

Dragging it away and tearing it apart
Ethereal contents packaged by depraved hearts
Remembering what heart used ...

Bleeding Roses

May 1, 2010
A single, alluring rose
Seeped through barefaced cracks
Into their minds
Outer refinement bred demise

Forever was only an illusion
A night in bed and another contusion
Where beauty in a vase
Was only hasty lies
Fed by disgust and despise

So sit there and watch
As all the roses wilt
And throw them to the eternal flame
That transforms this world to shame
Ashes of blame raining upon the innocent

The smoke contaminated with deceit
Breathed through their lungs
Polluted their minds
Hatred arrived again
Rendered the ...

The Deadly Weds

April 28, 2010
Stagnant air in the lungs of time
Beneath the feet of an underhanded groom,
There lies a corpse bride
Decrepit headstones,
Aged with disdain,
With tears drops leaving their sacred stains.

Her tattered veil disguises her aberrant mind
Degrade and ridicule glaze his eyes
Just like the apathy and the lies
Over the grave he stands,
Disheveled,
Irony and calamity gripped in his hands

Stashed the weapons of total annihilation
It was no violation of regard
She never got far
But was never left behind
Rid of this inc...

Forever Promenade

April 24, 2010
The ominous hiss of a vinyl record
Faces of phantoms forlorn
Hidden under paper masks
At last, their time is here
Momentary pleasure held dear.

Corpses parading a ballroom dance
Drowning in all its brilliance
An endless tune screeching away,
A sinister graveyard masquerade,
While day by day,
This ballroom expands
Leaving their earth with nothing
But empty hands.

Stories of different backgrounds,
Different times,
Undermining immense dreams
The makings of the loves they're leaving,
Whacked out worlds and mess...

A Leeza Story

Life is hard. Not impossible, but incredibly hard. Too many things in this world are bad, too many horrible things happen to good people. The good news is that you CAN fix it. I've had a difficult life, and really tough things tend to happen to me a lot. But remember always that even when life seems impossible, when there's no way out, when all you do is failfailfail, you gotta remember - the worse things you endure in life, the greater the reward will be in the end.
